  • Golf Course Marshal

    The City of Guymon is accepting applications for the full-time position of Course Marshal for Sunset Hills Golf Course.


    The Course Marshal needs to be a mature individual who will be responsible for monitoring the pace of play, remind groups that fall out of position of ways to speed up pace, ensuring the golf course policies and dress code are followed in addition to providing guests high quality customer service.


    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Applicant must have a valid Oklahoma Driver's License with good driving record.
    • Applicant will be required to work weekends
    • Applicant must be able to read, write and speak English, Spanish a plus but not required
    • Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check as required.
    • Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED

    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Regular attendance is required.

    • General knowledge of golf course operations

    • Ability to lift over 25lbs.

    • Excellent customer service

    • Ability to work under pressure.

    • Occasionally required to work more than eight hours a day.  

    • Able to work flexible hours and holidays.  

    • Work is typically outdoors and some indoors when needed.



    EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

    • Interact with golfers in a friendly, helpful manner.

    • Responsible for informing players of course conditions and local rules

    • Responsible for maintaining a reasonable pace of play on the golf course.

    • Communicate with Superintendent and Club House Manager about any pace of play problems.

    • Monitor water stations and course cleanliness.

    • Assist other staff as needed.

    • Remain open and positive in communication with guests.

    • Always maintain a clean and neat appearance while on duty and adhere to the dress code.

    • Any additional tasks assigned by a Club House Manager and/or Superintendent.


    EXAMPLES OF NON-CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

    • Assist in the staging of golf carts.

    • Perform reasonable tasks and projects as assigned by the Superintendent or 

    Club House Managers.

    • Assist the Superintendent and Greens crew whenever possible.

    • Maintain radio communication with the Club House

    • Knowledge of customer service skills and proper public and telephone etiquette.

    • Ability to write legibly, communicate effectively with the public.

    • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.  

    • Perform the full range of duties with only occasional instruction or assistance.

    • Knowledge of safety and preventive maintenance procedures.

  • Assistant IT Director

    The City of Guymon is accepting applications for an Assistant IT Director with proven IT/Network skills. 5-10 years of network and active directory experience is desired.  Certifications in the IT field are viewed favorably as the position has the possibility of transitioning to the IT Director position.


    REQUIRED:

    • Applicants must have a valid Oklahoma Class D Driver's License with a good driving record.
    • Applicants must be able to read, write and speak English; Spanish a plus but not required.

  • Seasonal Life Guards

    The City of Guymon is now taking applications for Lifeguards for the City Swimming Pool.

    Applicants must be 15 years or older and may be currently certified - if not, certification is offered.

  • General Labor - Cemetery (Parks Department)

    City of Guymon is now taking applications for a full-time person in our Parks Department at the Cemetery.

    • Applicant must have a valid Oklahoma Driver's License with good driving record.
    • Applicant must be able to read, write and speak English, Spanish a plus but not required
    • Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check as required.
    • Backhoe experience is preferred but not required. Can be trained on the job
