To better serve Guymon, we have come up with a program that we feel will help us to save our customers money and keep our neighborhood and county cleaner. This program starts with no longer charging for disposal of concrete, rocks free of large amounts of dirt, brick or other masonry block at the transfer station. The materials must be free of trash, wood or large amounts of dirt. Staff at the scale house will inspect the loads and direct customers where to unload.
Part two of the program is for the recycling and beneficial reuse of the product. We will bid out crushing and screening of the stockpile periodically to make a usable product. Street Department crews will then utilize the crushed materials to help rebuild and stabilize our alleys.
Our third goal is to reduce illegal dumping and help clean up the neighborhoods. The program will save citizens and businesses money in disposal fees and will provide a usable material that the city can rebuild its infrastructure to better serve its citizens at a lower cost.
Contractors working in the city are eligible for the program. Fees have been waived effective today.
